In our English lessons, we learned all about Halloween. First, we found out where the festival comes from: Halloween goes back to an old Celtic festival. People believed that on this night the border between the world of the living and the world of the dead was very thin. Irish emigrants later brought the tradition to America, and from there it spread all over the world.
Then it was time for fun: we played English Halloween games and learned lots of new words. At the end, we all dressed up and went from classroom door to classroom door. With a “Trick or treat!” we asked for sweets and were welcomed everywhere.
A big thank you to all the classes and teachers who joined in and opened their doors for us!
